In a roundabout way, the cover actually explains another controversial Spider-Man Marvel Comics cover that featured the heroine striking an impossible pose. In 2009, artist J. Scott Campbell drew a cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #601 for Marvel Comics featuring Mary Jane Watson looking at Spider-Man swing into action.
